Least appetizing headline of the day.

October 20, 2011

It takes a lot to make me lose my appetite. But this headline from the Los Angeles Time does it: Restaurant nudity to be debated in San Francisco.

Before you accuse me of being a prude, please note that I have a sister and brother-in-law who have been naturists. And they probably have had more than their share of meals au naturel before. But in a restaurant? Where other people eat? Eewww!

I don’t think I’d want to use a napkin that’s been in my lap under those circumstances.

I can also be a sloppy eater and wouldn’t want to spill any hot soup in my lap under those circumstances. So, if I have to have a body bib, why wouldn’t I just dress for dinner?

Naturism is not about sex, despite what some rather uptight people would have you believe. It’s about feeling freer without the confines of clothing. Still, this discussion reminds me of the Florida restaurant where the diners eat from beds. If that were the case, a top sheet would be more appropriate than a bib.

Am I wrong?

  1. I totally agree. I know we are trying to live in a liberal society but there has to be a line drawn for things like this!
